Packing the Eats at Million Meal Marathon

American Structurepoint employees and their family members packed hundreds of nutritious meals bound for Indiana food pantries at the sixth annual Million Meals Marathon on November 1 at Lucas Oil Stadium. The all-day event seeks to do exactly what its name says – pack one million meals in just a single day to help feed the hungry. Our team took the 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. shift, working in assembly-line fashion with about 3,000 volunteers to package vitamins and minerals, dried vegetables, powered soy protein, and rice into one meal pack that will feed 6 people. The need is great. In Indiana alone, 1 million people – including 1 in 5 children – don’t know where they’ll get their next meal. The organization has packed more than 26 million meals in its 10-year history. A big thanks to all those who participated.
