American Structurepoint projects and people appeared in the news media 22 times in January. Read on for a recap.
- A roundup in Building Excellence In Design and Construction Magazine of notable Indiana projects breaking ground in 2022 included the Reimagine Pleasant Street project in Noblesville for which we are providing design and corridor management services.
- Construction on two Carmel roundabouts we designed will occur in 2022, at Range Line Road and Medical Drive. An announcement about the upcoming projects made news in Current in Carmel, Hamilton County Reporter, The Indianapolis Star, and Yahoo News.
- Moving 2,200 inmates from Marion County’s two jails into the new Adult Detention Center at the Community Justice Campus in Indianapolis throughout January appeared in multiple outlets. These included Fox 59 News, The Indianapolis Star, Yahoo News, WFYI, and WTHR Channel 13. We provided structural engineering services for the new facility.
- The incoming Lafayette Police Department chief, in an interview in the Lafayette Journal & Courier, gave high praise to the new Public Safety Building currently under construction. We provided architectural + interiors, civil engineering, and structural engineering services for the project.
- Columbus Business First published updates about two multi-family projects in Columbus, Ohio for which provided civil engineering and land surveying services. Condos known as TwoXfive went up for sale, and a groundbreaking is set for later this year for Eisen 359, a townhome development.
- The Columbus (Indiana) City Council approved funding for the 1821 Trail project for which we are providing design services. The Columbus Republic reported the news.
- Inside Indiana Business and The Indianapolis Star reported on proposed legislation filed at the Indiana Statehouse that if passed, would effectively cancel the planned Blue Line rapid bus transit line planned in Indianapolis. We are providing program management services to the Indianapolis Department of Public Works for this project.
- The Latitude Commercial website reported it is providing property management services for the office building in Merrillville that our staff recently moved into. (Please see the article appearing elsewhere in the newsletter)
- News of a ribbon-cutting ceremony planned for February 1 at the Sweet Galilee at the Wigwam affordable living community for seniors appeared on Streetinsider.com and Inside Indiana Business. We provided multiple services for the project. (Please see the article appearing elsewhere in the newsletter.)
- The Record, the Goshen College newspaper, published news of the college campus being under consideration as a location for a city-owned multi-use pavilion and ice rink. We provided architecture design services for the proposed facility.
- A state of the city address, given by Hammond Mayor Thomas McDermott Jr. and reported by The Northwest Indiana Times, referred to the Hohman Avenue project as a transformative first step in spurring on downtown redevelopment. We are providing multiple services for the project including roadway design, traffic engineering, project management, and right-of-way engineering.
- The Hamilton County Reporter and WISH-TV Channel 8 reported on plans for widening SR 32 through much of downtown Westfield to Timberbrook Drive. The project, for which we are providing roadway design services, is set to begin construction in 2023; public comment on the plans will be accepted through February 10.
