Aging clay sewers in one of Gary’s oldest neighborhoods are getting a $2.3 million makeover. The Ambridge sewer rehabilitation project that broke ground on March 19 will rehabilitate more than 8,000 feet of century-old sewer piping in the Ambridge neighborhood. American Structurepoint utility infrastructure engineers reviewed 16,000 feet of video, prepared a preliminary engineering report and cost estimates prior to designing the rehabilitation and replacement of the sewers. Our firm also prepared topography for the project and is doing part-time inspection. Pipeline replacement and rehabilitation will significantly reduce basement backups and overflow, which will improve the health of Gary residents and improve the quality of the water environment.  Cindy Fort, the Ambridge project manager, represented American Structurepoint in the groundbreaking photos, and John Kennedy and John Tucker attended the event.
