Congrats to ACE Mentors, a national program that American Structurepoint has supported for ten years in Indianapolis, for receiving some heavy-duty recognition from the Public Broadcast System (PBS) recently. ACE creates opportunities for high school students to interact with architects, engineers, and construction managers to encourage the students to pursue construction industry careers through mentoring and scholarship awards. PBS stations throughout the US devoted seven hours of programing promoting American Graduate Day on Oct. 3, an initiative to help students stay on the path of graduation and future success. During the broadcast, four segments aired showing the work ACE is doing in Chicago, New York, and Philadelphia. American Structurepoint has supported the Indy chapter of ACE since it began in 2005, providing monetary donations and mentors who work with students from Lawrence North and Lawrence Central high schools. We also have an ACE mentoree, Erin McCreary, interning two days a week in the Indianapolis Architectural Group.
