Even Mother Nature showed her approval of the completion of the $1.78 million Wendell Jacob Avenue improvement project in Angola, sending a vivid rainbow to shine down on the revamped roadway recently. American Structurepoint worked with the City of Angola on several fronts by helping to secure federal funding for the project, designing the roadway construction, dealing with environmental permitting issues that required us to design a sheet pile retaining wall system to minimize wetland impacts, managing right-of-way acquisition for the City, and managing project construction. A ribbon-cutting ceremony on Oct. 19 marked the roadway’s official opening to the motoring public. Angola Mayor Dick Hickman was pleased with the results; the local media quoted him as saying, “This is the best job I’ve been involved with in 13 years.” Way to go, everyone!
