Staff Engineer Asia Doss, AKA a former star guard for The Ohio State University’s women’s basketball team, joined with a Columbus TV station to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week for young basketball players. Columbus TV station WBNS planned a surprise event for young girls at the Linden Community Center, and Asia was more than happy to play a big role in the surprise. Asia spoke to the girls about the importance of kindness, how to use sports to propel them forward, and the power of believing in yourself. “Basketball has taught me a lot and taken me to a lot of places! The best thing it’s taught me is personal skills, communication, the power of being there for someone, and most importantly, the power of helping people,” says Asia. The TV station supplied pizza and gave the girls tickets to an upcoming OSU women’s basketball game. Way to go, Asia!
