Every year, American Structurepoint hosts a career day for DREAM Alive Scholars at our Indianapolis design center. This year, along with most events in 2020, we had to create a virtual experience alternative. On Thursday, October 1, Derrek Day (Bridge Group), Miles Demerly (Road Group), Luke Kahren (Business Development Group), and Ryan Selby (Land Surveying Group) participated in a virtual career day via Zoom with Dream Alive scholars.

DREAM Alive then coordinated another virtual event with Harshman Magnet Middle School, where over 100 students participated in learning about business development, roadway engineering, architecture, land surveying, and bridge engineering. Students first watched short videos about the various career options at American Structurepoint and then chose which breakout room they wanted to join for a live Q&A session with our experts. While we are eager to be able to host students in our design centers again one day soon, we are looking forward to creating more virtual connections in the meantime.
