Patrick O’Connor, project engineer in the Transportation (Traffic) Group, recently completed and graduated from the 2019 LeadershipITE program. The Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) is an international association of membership professionals who work to improve mobility and safety for all transportation system users. Twenty-one transportation professionals were selected from across North America to participate in LeadershipITE, a nine-month leadership development course, which included in-person meetings in Washington, DC; New Haven, Connecticut; and Austin, Texas. The program is structured to identify, develop, and engage leaders to ensure that ITE and its members are positioned to participate and shape the future of transportation. Over the course of the program, participants were divided into project teams that worked on identifying an emerging trend or issue in transportation. At the Austin ITE Annual Meeting in July, teams made their final presentations to the ITE International Board of Direction which marked the completion of the program for Patrick. Pictured above, Patrick poses with ITE President, Bruce Belmore, after his official graduation. Congratulations on a great accomplishment!
