The US military proudly lives the “leave no man behind” motto. In turn, The Architecture + Interiors Group lives the concept of taking care of their own serving their country. The group collected donations among themselves to send care packages to Dan Bajor, an American Structurepoint architect deployed overseas since October. Dan is a lieutenant in the US Navy Reserve commanding three units totaling 84 people. The effort went so well that they sent a care package Dan’s family, too. Dan’s care package contains six bags of Goldfish crackers, four bags of Milano cookies, a box of trail mix bars and a box of protein bars, $60 worth of iTunes gift cards, a Subway gift card to use on the base, and a $100 military coffee card to use at the base coffee shop.
Dan’s family received a Navy-themed care package. It included adult coloring books and wine for his wife. His children, ages 1 and 3, received sailor stuffed animals, children’s books about the Navy and deployment, and an activity scrapbook to share with Dan when he returns in October. The Arch Group received a thank-you email from Dan, who was particularly excited about the coffee gift card. “Caffeine is a coveted item here while running 24/7 ops. Much obliged for the taste of ‘Americana!’” Please see the Community Service News article elsewhere in the newsletter to read about the care packages that our Community Service group sent to Dan’s units.
