An exciting food-packing event is coming your way on September 20 in Indy thanks to employee suggestions. Two of our employees contacted the Community Service Board us separately over the past year suggesting that we support Pack Away Hunger (PAH).
You may have heard of the Thrive 360 Million Meal Marathon in which we’ve participated for several years. This is a slight change from our normal event, because we want to HEAR about and SUPPORT causes that YOU support. For this reason, Community Service has organized a PAH event on Thursday, September 20, at their facility located at 5230 Park Emerson Drive. The event starts at 4:30 p.m., and we will, of course, extend the invite to family members. .
PAH is a non-profit organization devoted to improving the lives of those who suffer from hunger and malnutrition locally, nationally, and globally. It offers opportunities to pack meals that meet the nutritional needs of those suffering from hunger and malnutrition. One assembly line creates 3,000 to 4,000 meals in one 2.5-hour shift!
PAH partners with The Mathile Institute to ensure that their meals are specially formulated to achieve high nutritional value. PAH also partners with Gleaner’s Food Bank, an organization at which we have previously volunteered as a company.
We hope to see you at the PAH event on September 20. Sign up now by clicking on the banner on the intranet. For more information on PAH, please visit the website. And stay tuned for a synopsis of our packing exploits in the October issue of To The Point Blog.
