If building a diverse and inclusive workplace sounds awesome to you, then consider joining the new United Progress, also known as the PointUP organization at American Structurepoint. PointUP is the rebranded Advancing Women’s group – the new name reflects the group’s evolution as its programs benefit more than just women. PointUP’s mission is simple: “to provide the support and networking tools necessary to build a diverse and inclusive workplace.” Any employee can participate in a PointUP event. The group will offer one lunch and learn/breakfast session and a social event each quarter.
2018 Schedule
Here’s the upcoming schedule
- Second Quarter
- Breakfast Session – Goal Setting (Please see next article for more information.)
- Event: Leaders On Tap (Please see next article for more information.)
- Third Quarter
- Lunch and learn – Generation Gaps and How to Work Together
- Event: Topgolf Social
- Fourth Quarter
- Lunch and Learn – Conflict Resolution Strategies
- Event: Skeet Shooting Lessons
Skeet shooting lessons are being offered because this activity is growing in popularity, particularly when it comes to networking. In fact, the National Sporting Goods Association says that skeet/clay target shooting is the third-fastest growing sport.
As you can see, the line-up is diverse. “PointUP wants to offer something for everyone,” says Kaitlyn Bilodeau. “Our goal is to have at least one event that appeals to every employee.”
