Dublin, Ohio residents were thrilled that the long awaited 4-legged roundabout at SR 161 and Riverside Drive opened to traffic on Friday, August 12 after 16 months of construction. Some media reports say the roundabout is Ohio’s largest. American Structurepoint played a huge role in the $12 million project. We did the original traffic analysis in 2007, followed by a preliminary corridor study. We began the design component in 2013, which included designing the roundabout, maintenance of traffic, pedestrian facilities, storm sewer, a new water line, AEP and Dublin duct banks, maintenance of traffic, lighting, signal modifications, and four retaining walls. The roundabout will improve traffic flow and safety, replacing an intersection that ranked third on Dublin’s highest traffic-accident areas. The City of Dublin held a formal dedication ceremony on August 16 and posted a video about the occasion on its Vimeo page. You can check out the video here.
