A big congratulations goes to Vanessa Shumate for being selected as one of six 2016 ACE-ENR Outstanding Mentors by the national ACE Mentor Program. She received her award at the organization’s national board meeting in Washington, D.C., on April 25. Vanessa has been actively involved in the ACE Mentor Program of Indianapolis for eight years, mentoring nearly 250 high school students interested in the architecture, construction, and engineering industries. One of those students will receive a $2,000 scholarship named in Vanessa’s honor thanks to a contribution from Engineering News Record (ENR) and its parent company, BNP Media.
