Construction is well underway at the Michigan City Police Department, the subject of a recent feature on the Building Indiana website. American Structurepoint designed the new 42,000-sft, state-of-the-art facility. Construction began in July, and Dan McCloskey is busy with construction administration duties, checking and reviewing shop drawings and visiting the site regularly to meet with the construction team. Concrete floors have been poured and concrete block installation is moving right along. The general contractor, Larsen Danielson, wants to enclose the shell building before any severe winter weather descends upon the northwest Indiana region. This will allow interior construction to progress through the winter months. All remains on schedule for a projected Aug. 31, 2016, completion.
