Fort Wayne Celebrates Promenade Park Opening

Promenade Park in downtown Fort Wayne opened August 9, and Environmental Scientist Monica Del Real was in attendance to witness the project’s milestone. She was impressed with the park and noted that the community was also enthusiastic about the new community feature! American Structurepoint completed environmental studies and permitting for the $20 million Fort Wayne Riverfront Promenade project. This complex, multi-phased project developed a promenade and public space on the north and south side of River, between the Wells Street Bridge and Headwaters Park West in downtown Fort Wayne. The park features a bandshell for concerts, a pavilion with a brewery and beer garden, gardens, a creek bioswale, a kids’ canal, fountain, fire features, amphitheater, and the Convergence sculpture. This newest City feature is intended to be a catalyst for public and private investment.
