Porter County Breaks Ground on Two Projects

Porter County recently held a ceremonial groundbreaking for two buildings for which we are providing architecture, interior design, landscape architecture, civil engineering, and structural engineering services. One project involves an expansion and renovation of the Porter County Courthouse building. Approximately 19,300 sft of the existing building will undergo a renovation of the two superior courts, their support staff, and probation and prosecutor’s offices to ensure that the building is ADA-compliant and accessible to people with disabilities, as well as secure for the public and staff that work there. We also are designing an annex addition of 8,175 sft that will become the home of a new superior courtroom and court’s support personnel. The second building is a 12,000-sft, single-story office building that will house a food pantry, the Portage Township Trustee office, and the Porter County Health Department and Assessor’s offices. This building has a $3.2 million construction budget. Both projects are scheduled to be completed within 12 months.
