Benefits resulting from an American Structurepoint-designed police station in Michigan City are highlighted in an AIM (Accelerate Indiana Municipalities) podcast. Meer mentions the station’s innovative elements have brought department personnel from all over the Midwest as well as federal law enforcement agencies for training and to see its technology, specifically the 360-degree virtual firing range.

This police station is not only changing its appearance and technology, but by opening its doors to the community, is removing barriers between the officers and the community. Meer is confident that these improvements are bringing the community together and creating a positive impact. Police Chief Mark Swistek already sees changes just by children stopping by the lobby to use the restroom, neighbors visiting officers, or taking time to ask questions. The state-of-the-art police station is just the beginning of building a safer, more united community.
