The Taylor Project Breaks Ground in Downtown Columbus

The Taylor rendering

Construction is now underway on The Taylor, a $41 million luxury apartment and urban grocer project in downtown Columbus, Indiana. American Structurepoint joined forces with developer Flaherty & Collins to design the public-private partnership project, which is a key component of the Envision Columbus strategic growth plan for downtown.

The 4-story luxury apartment building features resort-style amenities such as a community lounge with kitchen, tech lounge, fitness center, bike fixit station, dog spa, bark park, swimming pool, grilling stations, pickleball court, and a fourth-floor sky deck with pristine views toward downtown.

The 1821 Bicentennial Trail extension will run adjacent to the development for easy resident access as well. We are teamed with Hitchcock Design Group to provide trail and water main design services for the trail project now under construction. The Taylor expects to open its first units in summer 2023, with full project completion scheduled for fall 2023.

The Taylor is named for famed Columbus resident Chuck Taylor, a semi-professional basketball player whose signature has appeared on the iconic Converse All-Star Chuck Taylor basketball shoe since 1932. Trivia fact: Chuck Taylor worked for Converse, played on the Converse basketball team, and sold the shoe for over 40 years.
