SR 37 and 126th Street Intersection Project Wins Grand Project Award

American Structurepoint is grateful to receive the 2022 Grand Project Award from ACEC Indiana for the SR 37 and 126th Street Interchange in Hamilton County. We share the award with the City of Fishers, Indiana Department of Transportation, Hamilton County, and the City of Noblesville. The Grand Project Award is the highest honor for engineering excellence given by ACEC Indiana to one project annually.

The interchange upgrade is the first of four projects to address traffic congestion and safety challenges along the SR 37 corridor from 126th Street to 146th Street in Hamilton County. Our design team converted the signalized intersection into a teardrop roundabout interchange at 126th Street. A new bridge and pedestrian and bicycle multi-use path allows traffic on 126th Street to pass over a reconstructed SR 37 lowered about 15 feet below grade. The new interchange vastly improves traffic flow, relieves traffic congestion, and provides increased safety for pedestrians and bicyclists.

The project design was a true team effort as nearly 90 American Structurepoint staff members worked on various project components over several years, along with a dozen various subconsultants. Congratulations to all who contributed to the project design and to those contributing to the ACEC Indiana award submission.
