IT Provides 2021 Virtual Workspace Stats

Our virtual workspace platform has been in use since 2015. It was one of the technology backbones for us while we all worked remotely due to the coronavirus in 2020. In 2021, the telecommuting policy went into effect, and many of you used the virtual workspace on a more consistent basis.

As we enter into year eight of the platform, IT Solutions is sharing 2021 data illustrating the platform’s use.

Here are definitions of the info in the graphic.

  • Daily virtual computers are the number of virtual computer PCs active per day.
  • Unique users refer to the number of different (unique) users on the virtual platform.
  • User sessions refers to the number of sessions opened.

Almost 30% of staff are consistently working virtually. For the design centers outside of Indianapolis and Columbus, the virtual workspace is their work platform. These virtual sessions range from one minute to several hours; the average session length for 2021 was around four hours. IT has found that the more committed staff are to using the virtual workspace, the more comfortable they become.

The virtual workspace continues to deliver a reliable working platform for all of our design centers and staff. Most importantly, it allows us to provide worksharing opportunities across design centers while maintaining consistency with our servers, files/folders, software, and design standards.

The IT Group is fully vested in ensuring you have the best experience possible and thanks each of you who used the virtual workspace throughout 2021.

If you want to learn more about the virtual workspace, watch for sessions and calendar invites in the Upcoming Live Events section of the Tuesday training emails sent by Mike Steffy, IT Solutions.
