Promotion News – Congrats to Patrick O’Connor, Melanie Bucher

Congratulations are in order for Patrick O’Connor and Melanie Bucher for receiving promotions in November. Read on for the details.

Patrick O’Connor – Traffic Team Leader

Congratulations to Patrick O’Connor on his promotion to traffic team leader. Patrick has the leadership skills, technical expertise, and great attitude to manage the day-to-day operations and production of the traffic engineering team as well as possesses the ability to mentor the talented staff. Patrick will work closely with Hardik Shah as his trusted advisor as Hardik continues to focus on growing the group and diversifying traffic engineering services in all our design centers in 2021 and beyond.

Patrick joined American Structurepoint in 2014 as a senior traffic engineer/project manager. He helped diversify the traffic team’s core services with his signal operations expertise that resulted in the firm winning work in South Bend, Bloomington, and Valparaiso. Some of his notable projects include the Red Line BRT Signal Design, Indianapolis Department of Public Works Two-Way Conversion Study, and most recently, more than 60 signal designs for various on-calls for INDOT districts. We wish Patrick continued success in his new role.

Melanie Bucher – HR Manager

Congratulations to Melanie Bucher on her promotion to HR manager. Melanie’s promotion is one more step in the progression of building an HR and hiring machine that can service our fast-paced, growing company. Since joining American Structurepoint in 2016, Melanie has worn many hats in our company, but she spends most of her time with compliance and employee relations and has taken on many special assignments.  She worked very closely with IT Applications Manager Mike Steffy on the rollout of our new training software, Pinnacle, which has been of great value to our company.  Earlier this year, she was integral in helping build policies and understanding the new time-off laws and other issues related to COVID-19. Please extend congratulations to Melanie the next time you see her.
