American Structurepoint Makes Headlines

Our projects and staff were mentioned 24 times in February. Check out this month’s news recap.

  • A proposed Merrillville Community Center for which American Structurepoint is working on a preliminary design and initial studies landed in the news media four times in February. The Merrillville City Council gave the go-ahead for our firm to complete a topography survey for the proposed community center site. The Chicago Tribune, the Gary Post Tribune, Kokomo Perspective, and The Times of Northwest Indiana reported on the project acquisition for the Merrillville Community Center, for which American Structurepoint is working on design aspects.
  • Ballpark Digest and WLFI Channel 18  reported on the advancement of the Loeb Stadium replacement project. An ordinance was approved that allows economic development income tax to finance the ballpark’s construction. American Structurepoint is providing multiple services for this project.
  • Plans to expand the Vanderburgh County Jail have progressed. Many news outlets such as WFIE Channel 14 News, Tristate Homepage, WIKY Radio, and Evansville Courier and Press, reported on the county commissioners’ and county council’s approval of funding for the initial design and cost analysis, which will be provided by American Structurepoint.   • American Structurepoint is providing planning services for the Our Southern Indiana Regional Development Authority (RDA). In early February, the RDA board hosted a meeting at Hanover College to engage with local stakeholders. The Madison Courier reported on the advancement of the Our Southern Indiana plan.
  • IndyGo’s Red Line project was a hot-button issue this month. It was announced that construction plans will be expedited. WRTV Channel 6 News, the Indianapolis Business Journal, WISHTV-8, The Indianapolis Star, WRTV Channel 6, and WTHR Channel 13   reported on the acceleration of plans. American Structurepoint is providing program management and construction staking services for the project.
  • The IBJ  reported on Westfield’s incoming advanced manufacturing facility,  Bastian Solutions. American Structurepoint is providing architectural, landscape, civil, and structural engineering services for the new $8 million manufacturing plant.
  • Rick Conner was highlighted in an article in the City-County Observer.
  • Columbus Business First  published an extensive article about the development of a 360-acre mixed-use village in Hilliard. American Structurepoint is providing civil engineering for this Ohio project.
  • Two Tulsa, Oklahoma media outlets, Tulsa Word and NewsOK, covered a ground-breaking event at the $15 million Cearu Medical Resort. American Structurepoint is providing architectural design, interior design, and structural services for this project. (Please see the article elsewhere in the newsletter).
  • The Indiana Chamber and BizVoice Magazine published the 2019 Best Places to Work in Indiana list. American Structurepoint is recognized for making the list in the large companies’ category. (Please see the article elsewhere in the newsletter.)
  • Several Columbus media reported that two blighted motels in Franklinton will be transformed into 100 efficiency apartments designed for 18-to-24-year-olds coming out of the foster care system. We contributed land surveying and site work for the project. Coverage included The Columbus Dispatch, WSYX Channel 6 News, WBNS Channel 10, and WCBE Radio 90.5.
