Promotion News in Transportation, Civil Engineering

We are proud to announce three promotions – two in the Transportation Group and one in Civil Engineering. Ben Borcherding has been promoted to vice president and is the executive responsible for the leadership of our Indiana Transportation Road and Bridge practice. Ben has 16 years of experience in bridge design, transportation engineering, sales, project management, and group operations management. His leadership of our Bridge Group has led to us continuing to be the largest staff of bridge professionals in Indiana and one of the most profitable groups in our company. Ben also has provided leadership on many large transportation design/build projects, and has built many key client relationships with INDOT county highway departments, and several key clients.

Ryan Cummins has been promoted to Bridge Group leader and will be responsible for the overall leadership and management of our bridge group. In Ryan’s 12 years with our company, he has become a technical expert in the design of both new and rehabilitated concrete and steel structures, hydraulic modeling of streams, and leading the FHWA bridge condition inspection efforts on hundreds of bridges throughout Indiana. Ryan also has mentored, trained, and developed the skills of many of our current bridge engineers.

Tyler Comstock has been promoted to project manager in the Civil Engineering Group. The 2011 graduate of Purdue University joined American Structurepoint as a design engineer in 2013. Tyler has shown a great ability to not only manage complex projects, but also to mentor our newer staff and take the time to teach them about site design. Tyler is a solid engineer and he is engaged in some very complex projects for the site group, including leading the civil/site design and management of the new IU Health Bloomington campus.

We are excited about the new opportunities ahead for Ben, Ryan, and Tyler. The next time you see them, congratulate each of them on their promotions.
