Columbus Marks Star Wars Day With Themed Breakfast

A long time ago (really May 4) in a galaxy far, far away (actually the Columbus office), Princess Leia (AKA Marketing Coordinator Tay Lane) set out to ensure the goodies she provided for the Friday breakfast group celebrated Star Wars Day in style. For those unfamiliar with Star Wars culture, May 4 has grown into a grassroots holiday known around the world. The day is a play on words on one of the famous lines in film history, AKA “May the force be with you.” Tay’s breakfast battle plan entailed making a batch of Star Wars waffles and bacon at home and then cooking up more grub at the office. But she slept through her 5 a.m. alarm, awaking at 8:30. After traveling light years in her Millennium Falcon, (actually 17 miles in her 2011 Dodge Caliber) Tay passed Alex Merrill’s cube and proclaimed, “Help me Alex-Wan-Kenobi (or maybe just Alex), you’re my only hope!” Alex manned a lightsaber (actually a nearby microwave), and whipped up some bacon, creating a marvelous Chewbacca bacon sculpture for the eating. After a galactic pancake-versus-waffle-recipe misfire, thereby causing the first waffle batch to whiffle, Tay produced the first waffle around 10:30ish. Until the waffles rolled out, Tay’s colleagues munched on the delectable Star Wars-shaped chocolates she made thanks to molds direct from planet Jakku (really Amazon Prime). Ultimately, a great breakfast was had by all. And remember, May the Fourth (breakfast) be with you always.
