Baseball Field Named For Joe Grinstead

The Sheridan community came together to honor Joe Grinstead for his dedication to the Sheridan Community Sports program. Joe shared his passion of youth sports as a dedicated volunteer of the Sheridan youth sports community, developing life lessons along with coaching and mentoring Sheridan youth. He served as president of the Sheridan Recreation Sports program and as baseball commissioner; coached baseball, basketball, and football; and actively volunteered in several capacities. It’s only fitting that from now on, Baseball Diamond No. 1 at Sheridan’s Biddle Park will forever be known as the Joe Grinstead Jr. Memorial Field.  The community also continues to hold fundraisers for the Joe Grinstead, Jr. Memorial Fund which was set up for the future education of Joe’s three sons, Evan, Hayden, and Owen.   On May 25, a pork loin benefit dinner was held at the Sheridan High School in honor of Joe. All proceeds went to the memorial fund. If you’d like to support the fund, you can do so at The Farmer’s Bank, 987 S. White Ave., Sheridan, Indiana, 46069.
