16 Tech Project Takes Big Leap Forward

American Structurepoint is right in the mix of $120 million worth of new developments recently unveiled at the 16 Tech innovation district in Indianapolis. Our engineers will be doing all the site work for three new buildings planned by Browning Investments. A new 120,000-sft, multistory building will house the Indiana Biosciences Research Institute, the area’s anchor facility that will strive to fast-track research on diabetes, obesity, and cardiovascular disease. Browning also plans a multifamily housing complex with more than 250 units and a new Class A building with office, research, and retail space. Look for construction to start on two of these new buildings later this year. As you know, we are very involved in the design of infrastructure improvements at the 60-acre site just west of downtown Indianapolis. This includes the design of new streets, a bridge over Fall Creek connecting 16 Tech with IUPUI and the IU School of Medicine, and relocating water and sewer lines so that all the new development can occur.
