Two INDOT projects in which we played a major role – East End Crossing/Ohio River Bridges and US 31 in Hamilton County – recently received top prizes for excellence from the Mid America Association of State Transportation Officials (MAASTO). Ohio River Bridges The Ohio River Bridges – East End Crossing won first place in the large project division of the Quality of Life/Community Development category. The $760 million project included the centerpiece Lewis and Clark Bridge connecting the east end of Louisville to Southern Indiana. American Structurepoint designed Section 6 of the project that included the 4 miles of new SR 265 as a 4-lane divided highway from SR 62 to the new bridge, as well as a complex interchange at SR62/Port Road, a diamond interchange at Salem Road, and 15 bridges. US 31 Hamilton County The US 31 project won in the large division of the Operations Excellence Category. The $350 million project, completed last summer, upgraded 13 miles of existing US 31 between 1-465 in Carmel and SR 39 in Westfield, including 11 new interchanges. We provided construction inspection services of US 31 between 146th and 169th streets. Check out a video highlighting the project here.
