Many of us gathered in the Grandview Conference Rooms on Wednesday, August 2 to celebrate Mike Jones’ retirement after 25 years of employment with us. Company President Rick Conner said Mike, who started as a project architect with us, stands as a testament to following your heart. Mike had always expressed an interest in forensics and investigative work and after a few years, it became reality. “Mike is a great example of hiring people and letting them follow their heart and their energy and look what happened. In 1998 we made investigative a profit center and now it is 19 people and $3 million in revenue, all because we listened to what someone wanted to do.” Mike also chimed in, saying he had a real good feeling about American Structurepoint after his initial interview and that he took Rick very seriously when Rick told him he’d like to see Mike retire from the company. “Now here I am, and I wouldn’t want it to be any other way,” Mike said. “It’s been a great 25 years, I appreciate all the folks that I have worked with, and I couldn’t think of a better place to be than here.” Mike then greeted those in attendance and we all ate delicious cupcakes.
