A major east-west connector road in the planning stages for a decade opened for traffic on June 7 in northwestern Franklin County, Ohio. The City of Hilliard hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony marking the opening of the $7.7 million Riggins Road project. Riggins Road now extends west to Avery Road. The project replaced a “T” intersection with a single-lane roundabout at Wilcox Road, new street lights, underground utilities, a new traffic signal at Avery Road, and a multi-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists. American Structurepoint provided roadway, roundabout and right-of-way design, land survey services, traffic control plans, and street lighting design. The project was built as an Ohio Public Works Commission project in collaboration with Franklin County, the City of Columbus, and the City of Hilliard.
