The Mid-Ohio Food Bank benefitted for the third consecutive year from the annual Columbus Day of Service on Thursday, June 22. Eleven employees from the Columbus office went to the food bank in Grove City where they inspected donated food, checked for expiration dates, then sorted the food into different categories, such as cereal, drinks, canned goods, snacks, medicines, etc. After sorting, they prepared the food for shipping. All in all, the Columbus office crew sorted around 2,500 pounds of food and drinks. The group also contributed $500 to the organization to help fight hunger in Central Ohio, money that will provide 2,000 meals to food-insecure families living in the food bank’s 20-county service area. Awesome job, Columbus!
