Recycling Follow-up

Following the successful Earth Day Lunch ‘N Learn at headquarters, our office decided to be a little greener by recycling the plastic end caps on the plotter paper rolls. The plot room has signs on where to place these caps. These caps will then go to Ray’s Trash Service where they will be melted down into other plastic materials. For more information on the recycling process, watch the video here.

We often know the list of items that can be recycled including plastic containers, cans, newspapers, etc., but you may not know what cannot be recycled. Ray’s Trash Service includes a list of unacceptable recycling items:

  • Plastic bags
  • Newspaper delivery bags
  • Styrofoam
  • Ceramics
  • Light bulbs
  • Window glass
  • Mirrors
  • Wax paper
  • Food-soiled paper
  • Plastic flower pots
  • Clear dome covers from take-out food
  • Microwaveable food trays
  • No oil containers (motor, butter, cooking)

If you are interested in the recycling process, our friends at Ray’s Trash Service are willing to let us tour their facility! They accept tour groups of about 20-30 people. Email [email protected] if interested.
