Hobnobbing With Mitch Daniels

It’s not every day a person gets to cross paths with a former Indiana governor turned major university president! So image the surprise of Steve Davidson when not only did he greet current Purdue University President Mitch Daniels, a photo to commemorate the event also appeared in the Lafayette Courier and Times newspaper and website. Steve was attending the official groundbreaking ceremony for the State Street Redevelopment Project in West Lafayette. In the photo with him are Purdue project managers Don Petersen and Mark Perron.

The project will remake State Street from the Wabash River through downtown West Lafayette to the newly opened western gateway. Components include 10 miles of roadway construction and reconstruction, conversion of major intersections, installation of roundabouts, and traffic signal updates. The project should finish near the end of 2018 in time for Purdue University’s 150th anniversary celebration. American Structurepoint is providing construction oversight for the entire project and also provided preliminary design work as part of the tech team for the P3 (public-private partnership) project.
