This year’s 38th Annual Memorial Golf Classic was held under beautiful, but hot weather and at a new venue! With the auction of Saddlebrook (the home for our past 12 events, 2003-2015), players took to their tees at Wood Wind Golf Club in Westfield. Even with wet conditions just days earlier, the course was in great shape and the greens were holding well.
Many, many thanks to American Structurepoint for providing this opportunity to gather and enjoy a great day of golf and fellowship!
We completed the 18-hole classic in what seemed like one of the faster outings in our history. After which, we retired to the beautiful banquet room to cool off, grab lunch, and announce the results of the day’s events, which are:
Long Drive on #3: Elliot Smith
Long Drive on #18: Elliot Smith (no this is not a copy/paste error. He really did win them both!)
Closest to the Pin on #8: John Nail
Closest to the Pin on #14: Steve Hanscom
Longest Putt on #9: Bryan Potter
Now for the scores –
The change to a longer, tougher course this year resulted in slightly higher scores overall, though the field was close. Each of the top 3 teams being separated by 2 shots each; 3rd place at an 8-under 63, 2nd at a 10-under 61 and this year’s winner at a 12-under 59. The teams are as follows:
Third Place: Larry Bohannon, Shaun Cofer, John Kantner, Eric Carr (a last-minute replacement for John Lange)
Second Place: Tanner McKinney, Nick Murphy, John Nail, Bryan Potter
First Place: Eric Kuntz, Will Lyon, Dave Machala, Zach Wolf
Congratulations to all our winners and thanks again for showing up and making it an enjoyable day! A special thanks to Andrew Everhart for once again, capturing the photos you see! Most importantly, another hearty ‘thank you’ goes out to American Structurepoint for allowing us to hook, hack, slice, and shank our way around the golf course once again! Until next year…
