NAWIC donated $450 to local high school students who participated in the NAWIC Education Foundation Annual Drafting Competition to design a convenience store for the Green Valley company. The designs were required to be regionally responsive, environmentally friendly and iconic. Each student was required to provide floor plans, elevations, site plans and electrical plans along with a design narrative. Kent Hughes and Vanessa Shumate were the drafting judges. The scholarships were awarded at the NAWIC Scholarship Awards Dinner on 5/24. The local affiliate winner, Jared Harmon, went on to win both the regional and national drafting awards as well.
