American Structurepoint Recognized for Excellence in ACE Mentor Program

ACE Mentor (3)

American Structurepoint’s commitment to the ACE Mentor Program of Indianapolis was highly recognized at last month’s Scholarship Awards Dinner. Liz Kokosinski won the Lawrence team Mentor of the Year award for her involvement in the team above and beyond the extents of a typical mentor. American Structurepoint won the Affiliate of the Year Award for contributing 9 mentors, a $4,000  scholarship,  and other financial support throughout the year. The Lawrence ACE students presented their design for an Indianapolis Visitor Center and taxiway/runway at the awards dinner on May 12. ACE provided approximately $50,000 in scholarships this year, $10,000 of which went to the Lawrence Township team that American Structurepoint employees mentor. Erin McCreary, who is currently an intern in the Architectural Group, received a $4,000 scholarship at the event.  During the evening, Vanessa Shumate was recognized for being chosen as one of six 2016 ACE-ENR Outstanding Mentors by the national ACE Mentor Program. Vanessa has been actively involved in the ACE Mentor Program of Indianapolis for eight years, mentoring nearly 250 high school students interested in the architecture, construction, and engineering industries. She is in her fourth year of serving as co-captain for the Lawrence team and also is a junior board member of the Indianapolis affiliate. Congrats to everyone and thank you for continuing to positively represent American Structurepoint!
